Flow of Sadness

My eyes follow your shadow,
Your form dancing in the glow.
Slipping across the walls,
Your face a pale doll’s.

I know you can’t see me.
Still, your tears fill a sea.
Near the flickering flame, I feel the cold in your hands.
Please don’t cry, don’t feel pain. We all return to the sands…

My heart sinks to see your misery.
And you cry because you think you’ve lost me…

Smiling gently, I lean in closer.
Feeling my cold, I see you shiver.
Still, slowly, I entwine our fingers
And within your cool hand, warmth still lingers…

My lips trace a soft-sad smile.
I’m here with you for awhile…
But those streaming tears really don’t suit you,
Though I feel them on my white skin, too…

And my heart sinks to see your misery.
Still, you cry because you think you’ve lost me…

Why do you cry for me?
I’m still here, can’t you see?
When I opened my scarred heart for your love,
Hurt I never meant yours to come full of…

My heart shall forever be open to you,
Forever, now to pour your sadness into.
As I pull you now to a frozen embrace,
I feel trembling tears run off from your face.
Let them flow through my unbeating heart
To the endless sands and let them restart
As tears of joy like our sweet memories…
Let them forever to fade from your shattering dreams…

My heart opens to take in your misery,
And as you cry, I let your tears fill me…

Please smile… The tears don’t match your sweet spirit…
I left you my love… trade your misery for it…
